B double E double R-U-N... What time is it?? ... BEER RUN!!!!!!!!!!!

What type of event is this?
This is a self-supported RUNNING EVENT, and NOT a beer drinking event. The name was derived because we originally started from a bar in Chicago and ended at a bar in Milwaukee, not that we're advocating beer drinking during the run.

Where will you start and end?
This year, the venue will be a little different in that we will still start at the Elgin Public House Restaurant and Pub (EPH) and end at the Kettle Moraine State Park where we'll camp and have a post-run party to celebrate our completion.

To get to EPH from the city by train, take the Milwaukee District West Line from Chicago Union Station to Elgin station.

Here is the train schedule that will get you to the bar by 7pm if you're not driving or riding with someone else.

Outbound Schedule:
Train Line - Milwaukee District West Line
Depart from: Chicago Union Station @ 5:46 pm
Arrival at: Elgin station @ 6:58pm

Directions from Elgin train station (walkable): When you get off train, hang a right and go to West Chicago Street. On W. Chicago St. you will go right across the Fox River and walk 2.5 blocks to Elgin Public House Restaurant and Pub.

NOTE: The Fox River Trail is less than 0.25 miles from the EPH bar, so we'll start running from the bar to the path and head North.

Finish Run Location: Hwy 67/Ice Age Trail at Kettle Moraine
Camping Location: Kettle Moraine Ottawa Campgrounds (more info to follow)

NOTE: Runners will be shuttled from Hwy 67/IAT finish line to the campsite after completing the 100 mile journey.

Is this a group run or do people run off by themselves?
Good question, this event is unique in that no runner is left behind. We run at the pace of the slowest runner so everyone can finish and enjoy the experience together.

Do we need carry our supplies the entire 100 miles?
No, we will have "tailgate" (crew) stops every 5 to 8 miles depending on the section. This will allow you to access your gear in someone's vehicle during the entire run.

Is this an official race?
No, so there is no registration or disclaimer to sign. In fact, you are running at your own risk and you shall be responsible for your own actions. There will be other runners available to help, but ultimately, it's advised that you are self-supported and well trained to complete the distance you plan to run, which can be anywhere from 0 to 100 miles.

What if I don't want to run the entire 100 miles?
That's perfectly okay. Last year, only one person completed the entire 100 mile distance. You can run the mileage you want and the segments you want. That's the beauty of this type of event. If you feel like running, hop out and run with the group, if not, kick back and relax and enjoy the time with the others.

This sounds fun to me, where can I sign up?
Here is the list of participants, please sign up if you plan on attending. Please volunteer to bring something if you can. If you can volunteer to drive, then please add that information in the space space provided. Before signing up, please be advised that we need to make sure that there are enough vehicles to support everyone planning to participate on the run (meaning that you'll need a ride back the next morning). Also, if you sign up, you'll need to make sure you have camping gear; otherwise, make arrangements to bunk with someone else.
